download the image below or any of the subsequent images and modify/alter it in any way you like, then return the result(s) via e-mail  to images@digitalsouls.com
together with the following information:

name of artist
title of work (optional)
brief description/explanation of modification
URL of artsist's homepage (if available)

your image should stay 320 x 460 pixels in size if at all possible,   jpeg or gif format (no animations, please).

by sending us your image, you give digitalsouls.com the permission to publish it on digitalsouls.com and as part of an annual archival cdrom of digitalsouls.com, and for it to be subsequently used as another starting point for modifications by further artists

if published on digitalsouls.com, we will include a link to your site as well as the above requested information

the basic idea of the project is to create a series of modifications that had their starting point in the image above.

each modification in turn can become the starting point of a new generation of images, resulting in a tree of modifications and generations of images.

a first set of images has gone online in june 1998 and the project is an ongoing work in progress.
